Welcome to Perfect Paths!
By Joba, February
I can’t believe I’m actually typing this—my first official blog post!
Hi, I’m Joba—a Nigerian-Canadian corporate girlie by weekday and the travel creator behind Perfect Paths every day that ends in ‘y.’

It’s only fitting to kick off this blog with a milestone, as I just returned from my 20th country! (Read till the end to find out where 👀). Oh, and fun fact—I originally drafted this in January, so let’s pretend this is the start of a new year too; “New Year, New Me” and all that.

How It All Started
My love for travel was definitely inherited. My dad never missed a chance to explore new places, and he always took the family along. Until 2008, that meant traveling within Nigeria, and then we made our way to Ghana for my first international (road) trip, spending a full day in Benin, staying overnight in Togo, and arriving in Ghana by day 2 for a weeklong adventure. Looking back, that trip was my first introduction to country pairing (a term I now live by).
Between visiting nine states across Nigeria and my mini West African tour, my passion for travel was officially born. Fast forward to today, I’ve explored incredible destinations across Africa, Europe, and the Americas—and I’ve been having the time of my life doing it.
What You Can Expect
Yes, this is a travel blog—but it’s not just another travel blog. I’ll be sharing:
- My personal travel experiences (the good, the bad & the funny)
- My favorite hacks to make travel smoother & more accessible
- Practical tips—how to maximize PTO, budget wisely & plan your dream itinerary
- Honest takes on destinations, accommodations & experiences
Most importantly, I hope to inspire you—to explore more, step outside your comfort zone, and maybe even take that trip you’ve been thinking about for the longest time.
So, whether you get inspired to travel or finally chase that thing you’ve been meaning to do, I’m glad you’re here, and I hope you’ll join me on this exciting Perfect Path (you know I had to 🤭).
